Andy Nic

Andy’s love for house music started in the early 90’s after his first visit to the infamous Hacienda in Manchester. He was hooked straight away and went nearly every Saturday night until it closed its doors in 1997. his early influences were people like Graeme Park, Frankie Knuckles and David Morales.

After the closure of the Hacienda he travelled around the North frequenting such clubs as Cream in Liverpool and Hard Times in Leeds, but at the turn of the millennium the era of the super-club was finished.

With no where to go, Andy with one of his close friend decided they would put their own night on. Their club night would become the infamous “On A Plate”, these were also Andy’s first gigs as a DJ.

The night quickly gained notoriety and grow from a small 200 capacity club, to stately homes, to massive venues with 2000 plus clubbers. Booking DJs such as Graeme Park, Sandy Rivera, Danny Rampling, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and many more.

With the success of the night, Andy also got bookings for nights at the likes of 2 Risqué, Good Grief, Garlands and Love2Be.

One of his best moments was when he became a resident at the massive Twisted Elegance in Manchester and played for nights such as Hed Kandi, Miss Moneypennys and Kiss da Funk.

In the last few years Andy has played at most of the bigger clubs in the North, Sankeys, Venus and Area 51 in Manchester, Mint in Leeds, Music Factory in Sheffield, Garlands in Liverpool.

He has played alongside many of the leading names in the business such as Erick Morillo, Axwell, Tim Deluxe, Judge Jules and many more.

More recently he held residencies at J2 in Bolton and Atlas bar and Venus in Manchester. Up-to-date and Andy has stepped back into promoting again and recently joined forces with Phil Rose in the creation of Edit at Baku Lounge, near Preston, booking DJs such as Allister Whitehead, The Audiowhores and Greg Wilson in the first few months. Since then Edit has gone from strength to strength booking DJs such as Graeme Park and Joey Negro, with many other, well respected DJs already pre booked for the next six-months. The Edit nights are proving more and more popular, witnessing sold-out capacity crowds, they have recently moved to the much bigger Baluga in Preston. The Edit brand continues to grow and will soon be launched in Manchester.
